COSMETIC DOCTORS’ ANALYSIS
Cindy McCain’s face is a divisive issue. Did she or didn’t she get plastic surgery?
People with the least expertise are the most convinced that they know what the wife of Republican presidential candidate John McCain has done. Of course she had plastic surgery, many say:
Cosmetic doctors are more restrained, rarely taking a stronger stance than “probably she did.” But they recommend more work to improve her looks, including more Botox, laser skin treatments, and surgery on her neck and jowls.
Has she already undergone major repairs?
“It’s hard to tell,” said dermatological surgeon Dr. David Sire of Fullerton, but he noted that Cindy McCain’s appearance has undergone “significant change in the last few years.”
Dermatologist Dr. Vince Afsahi of Newport Beach and Tustin said the smoothness of her face could be the result of genetics or of plastic surgery.

Afsahi said:
Cindy McCain has several areas of her facial structure which stand out beautifully. Her soft, smooth forehead and glabella [area between the eyebrows] can of course be a “genetic gift” or could have been enhanced either with a surgical brow lift or Botox treatment. In her case the results are superior and she looks very good for a woman her age.
Dermatologist and skin-care-products entrepreneur Dr. Patricia Wexler of Manhattan said that for a woman of 54 it’s remarkable “how young she looks for her age.”
“It looks like she cosmetically enhances herself … and she does a good job.”
Other doctors said Cindy McCain would benefit from more cosmetic procedures.
Sire would recommend:
“She would look great!” he concluded.
Afashi would recommend less work than Sire suggests:
Cindy McCain has wonderful bone structure, classic looks, and has aged beautifully. Only minor procedures could be considered.
Bringing fullness to her upper and lower lip through a filller such as Juvederm would be a consideration. Similarly, fillers could soften her laugh lines and [around her mouth] creases.
The vertical lines around her upper and lower lip could be softened with laser-based procedures or chemical peeling.

I really don’t think she has had much work. a touch of Botox here and there; nothing else is very evident. I think the photo of her at age 50 is not particularly good which doesn’t help us tell more. I think she’s had her teeth fixed (needed) and definitely has better makeup now. bottom line she looks great
She is fine.
Who gives a rip about botox.
A persons face and skin can change daily to weekly depending on their sleep, water intake, and proper diet.
All is relative.
She is running all over the place, with this election campaign.
And why does she have to look like a plastic barbie?
Real people like real people, not fakes.

She looks hot. I’d love to be able to look at her and Sarah Palin for the next four years.
Seriously Colin…you’ve got to stop these absurd articles mixing politicians and cosmetic surgery. Stick to actors and other fame seeking people. It would be really nice to see important issues in our political climate left as it. This isn’t People Magazine.
PS- I didn’t even bother to read this article after seeing the headline. Just felt compelled to comment. I think several of your commenters are also tired of these political candidates and their wives being discussed in this matter. Please stick to the Paris Hilton, Kathy Griffins and Heidi Klums in your articles.
Colin, when are you going to do the same to the men in politics?
Yawn.
It seems to not be PC to comment on Michele (Mike) Obama. We are wondering if Michele is really Mike in a dress. Mike is not feminine at all. Talk about lipstick on a…
Are you people blind? Her face is pulled tight as a drum. She looks like the Cryptkeeper. Her white-blonde hair also looks ridiculous for a woman her age. I think she’s had considerable cosmetic work done. After all, what else does she have to do besides pop pills and spend money?
Um, Dr. Sire is actually my doctor and I may switch to Dr. Afashi now. Sounds like Dr. Sire wants to turn her into Joan Rivers.
A nonsense article. The writer needs to find a real job.
In case you didn’t know: People get old; they aren’t born that way!
What’s wrong with trying to look as good as you can?
It’s odd that every half baked actor in Hollywood can get a major exterior overhaul and there is nary a comment about them, but the wife of a Republican who is running for the Presidency seems to be fair game.
I wonder how many of the poison pen comments registered here have been made by not so attractive liberals? The answer would be intersting.
lol… Mike. that’s a pretty good one
So typical of those in “the O.C.” not to accept a person for how he or she looks as they age.
Cindy looks fine! And, I hope she doesn’t do anything more than use a great cleansing program and a good moisturizer.
I’m a maverick, and suggest y’all join me in CHANGE for the O.C. … allowing ourselves to age according to our genes, to say “no” to cosmetic procedures, and to ACCEPT and love each other no matter our sagging jowls and increasing wrinkles.
Be a maverick and go against the youthful-look-forever culture!
WRINKLES, YES!
Cindy:
I think you look great. I decide several years ago to go white, in my family gray comes many years early. I decided with five children I earned my right to grow old gracefully. Dr. Sire used to be a great Doctor before he got into Cosmetics. Two of my Family have been to his office for medical reasons and he was unable to come up with why or a cure, but I do think that it is why we call it Practising Medicine there is not always a clear answer unless you get lucky. Dr. Sire please get back to your God given talents.
I wanted to ask if you could e-mail me more information about the surgery, because Iam very interested thank you
