Two of the top stars in this weekend’s “High School Musical 3” have turned to plastic surgeons to fine-tune their noses, experts and celebrity watchers say.

Zac Efron, 21, (shown in before and after photos at right) apparently had his rhinoplasty before he was famous, while the operation on Ashley Tisdale, 23, was much publicized last winter.

Efron’s co-star, Vanessa Hudgens, 19, has not had plastic surgery.

Plastic surgeon Dr. Sherrell J. Aston told the Make Me Heal Web site:

I have reviewed a number of pictures of Zac Efron and it is my opinion that he has had nasal surgery.

While his facial architecture has changed as he has matured it appears that his nasal tip cartilages have been made smaller and the width of his nasal bones is narrower. He is handsome and his nose fits his face.

It shows the advantage of a rhinoplasty performed well and at the right time for a young man before the height of his celebrity.

The Web site Plastic Celebs commented:

Notice that the old pic shows Zac with a bigger nose. It is unlikely for the nose to get smaller with age, isn’t it? But anyway, Zac looks perfect with his smaller nose and that alleged nose job is I think the best decision Zac ever did with his face.

Ashley Tisdale Tisdale (shown in before and after photos at right) had her nose job to repair a deviated septum that had hindered her breathing. In the process, she also changed the outline of her nose.

She told People magazine that she did not opt for the operation in order to change her appearance. She does not advocate plastic surgery, she said:

I didn’t do this because I believe in plastic surgery. I did this to help my health. I literally almost could not breathe out of the right side of my nose.

Make Me Heal commented:

While Tisdale’s case may indeed prove to be a medical necessity, it is likely that her corrective surgery will have some cosmetic benefits and that the star had taken the opportunity to also improve upon her nose while repairing her deviated septum.
