Cosmetic medicine blogs, which reveled in discussions of Michael Jackson while he was alive, mostly fell silent or expressed only muted criticism after he died. Readers of this blog were less restrained. Below are excerpts from blogs’ recent posts and from readers’ comments about Michael Jackson.![]()

CELEBRITY COSMETIC SURGERY
Blogger and plastic surgeon Dr. Tony Youn combines his coverage of Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett, commenting, “Both have undergone their share of speculation about their plastic surgery. I guess it doesn’t matter now.” In the past, Youn has often written about Jackson on the Celebrity Cosmetic Surgery blog, including recommendations about how to fix his nose.

AWFUL PLASTIC SURGERY
After praising Michael Jackson as a memorable singer and performer, the Awful Plastic Surgery blog moves on to describe him as “an odd fellow who changed dramatically over the years.” It has photos (including the ones above) but few details about his transformation. To fill that gap, the blog issues an invitation to plastic surgeons.

COSMETIC MAKEOVERS
The Cosmetic Makeovers blog limits itself to praise of Michael Jackson. It simply links to two YouTube video tributes.

COSMETIC SURG BLOG
Plastic surgeon and blogger Dr. Ricardo Rodriguez of Maryland sent word that he is preparing a video for his blog on the topic of whether Jackson’s repeated plastic surgeries caused his medical problems, which began after he was burned during shooting of a Pepsi ad. Here’s the comment that posted on his behalf on this blog by Leeza Rodriguez:
There was a very slippery slope in terms of plastic surgery following the Pepsi commercial. MJ was treated by Dr. Hoefflin for the burn injury in the commercial, and then Hoefflin went on to perform multiple nose surgeries during the next few years. Everybody knows the obsession created a awful looking nose, but not many realize that there may have been a function impairment.
The multiple surgeries probably caused internal valve collapse with associated breathing problems.Dr. Rodriguez will release a video blog on his topic tomorrow. Stay tuned at http://www.cosmeticsurg.net/blog

Is the passing of Michael Jackson the most important thing in the news? I really think the economy, Iran and North Korea are more important! Enough with the Michael Jackson stuff - he wasn’t God or a saint -
I agree with Paula, why are we celebrating a child molester who in the last 15 years hasn’t done anything other than make a fool of himself and not pay his bills. If he hadn’t had some hit records he would have died in jail.
Well Michelle - how quick you are to label this individual with such distasteful slander. Your opinion of an assumed act was proven false by a jury of 12. Regardless of our opinion regarding his negative past, overall, his legacy has meaning to many world wide. Secondly, theres no indifference from an average family vs a wealthy celebrity when it comes to debt. Every household has experience(d) financial hardship. What Im most appalled by, is how the media star spagled his death, yet Farrahs death, the resulting of anal cancer was washed down the gutter. Its unfortunate how the media selects which stories to cover to raise their viewer ratings.
Rich and famous people get by 12 juror all the time, I think you need to look up and see how many children and their families he paid off. I say again if he wasn’t famous he would have died in Jail.
Get a life MIchelle! Who are you to judge. I bet if someone looked into your past, there would be a few things you’d be ashamed of. Dead/alive his life is more important than anything you could do.
Funny how the media, who lambasted him for years, is now treating him like a saint. Paula has it right.
Its hard to tell the “legitimate news” from the tabloids! After watching a special on Farrah Fawcett last Friday night - I have to say, she was a real lady - and I wish I could have gotten to know her. People with cancer wrote to her about their cancer and she actually responded to them - I really hope - and I feel that she is in heaven!
An American soldier died today (6-24-09).
I do not know his name.
His country called him and he answered with his life.
He did not squander hundreds of millions of dollars
nor did he sleep with little boys.
Was he acknowledged on the news?
Was his picture on national television?
An American soldier died today.
I do not know his name.
He is the one the nation should be mourning,
I will mourn for him and his family.
I will remember him and his sacrifice!
Michael is dead - so the biggest losers come out of the woodwork like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. WTF do they need them for?
Our country is being destroyed by our politicians, Nancy Pelosi uses more fuel in a week than 60 people use in a year and she wants us to ‘decrease our carbon footprine’, and our economy is unraveling as fast as we throw ‘recovery’ money at it and all we care about is Michael?
Remember, Obama is a racist communist who hates America, American dreams and ideals, the US Constitution, and American citizens. He especially despises those foolish enough to have voted for him.
PS - I don’t think MJ had plastic surgery - it was a skin condition.
sorry - ‘footprint’
I think I have heard enough about Michael Jackson. Although I believe every life has value, and sadly no one could help this poor man/boy get his life together, the gift of life he was given is over. Everyone, even Michael Jackson had choices, and he squandered his life for money. It surely proves money bought him nothing of lasting value and important core values were absent. God Bless his soul, but let’s not sensationalize and make a new buck on what is left, a sad legacy and even sadder reason for demise.
Touche’ ! Me -
Those are the REAL heroes. They are the reason we can say and write our opinions without being prosecuted or shot in the street like they are in Iraq.
God bless our men and women who defend our freedoms everyday.

Americans are stupid. The media gives us what we want to see and hear. The founding fathers would puke if they could see us now.
DEAR “ME SAYS”
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT VERSE, WHO CARES ABOUT MJ FF OR THE OTHERS, LET REALLY PRAY FOR OUR FALLEN SOLDIERS WHO PUT THERE LIVES ON THE LINE SO WE CAN SAY WE LIVE IN THE USA… GOD BLES THE ARM FORCES
There’s a demand for MJ information. CNN specifically has beeen attacked for airing more stuff on MJ life and death than the whole Iran situation. This is based on when people tune in and tune out. I’ll bet the majority of commenters here are tuning in day and night!!
See what I mean!
I think it’s sad how some people just won’t let anyone rest in peace. Micheal Jackson no matter what was one of the best preformers ever why can’t people just remember that. He was never conficted of anything.Yes he was strange in many way but have any of you wondered what made him the way he was. He was an abused child he never had a childhood, his father ruled his life and the lifes of his brothers and sisters I just think before people judge him they should learn more about the life he lived, It wasn’t a happy one he was very sad and lonely even when he was on stage you could see the sadness in his eyes. I wonder how many of you that jump so quick to judge him would have turned out had you grew up in his shoes I wonder how normal you would be. If you haven’t walked in his shoes then don’t judge him because you have no idea what you would have done if your life was like his was. All I am saying is he was a brillant preformer and that’s what we should all remember right now and let the man rest in peace because he never had peace on earth.
I love micheal jackson sooooo much and i live in the middle east in egypt and we love him sooooooooooo much
Mike was evryones inspiration,so how can they leave him alone. They wanna know more n more abt him,jst like me.Hey do u ppl know whos the mother of BLANKET?
