IFs, ANDs and BUTTS
Actress Sienna Miller, 27, has some advice for herself on how to preserve her good looks: Start working out.
But plastic surgeon Dr. John Di Saia of San Clemente has different advice for her on how to preserve her looks: Stop smoking.
Miller has tried to quit smoking in the past and also vowed to exercise more.
Although she has been unsuccessful so far, she thinks that she’s reached an age when exercise is important, according to ContactMusic.com and HollywoodRag.com:
I’m lucky I’ve got a good metabolism. I’m very grateful for that. But I’m not toned at all. I think I’ve reached an age at 27 where it’s time for me to start working out a bit. I can’t get away with it any more,
I used to be quite firm and tiny and, as I hit 25, things started to change. Now I’m 27 I’m noticing more changes — bare legs at the top and back is not a pretty sight. I’m lazy and if I wear clothes, it’s hidden well. I don’t feel like a beauty icon. I get pretty insecure and have the same insecurities as everyone else — sometimes more because there is more focus put on me.
In his blog, Di Saia added this encouragement:
Ms. Miller should follow through on her attempts to quit smoking, because smoking may be aging her prematurely. It also makes her a less wonderful candidate for plastic surgery should she wish to go in that direction in the future.
Miller’s smoking also undercuts her efforts to help combat carbon emissions and global warming. In support of that cause, Miller has served as an international celebrity ambassador for the advocacy group Global Cool, even though her personal carbon emissions are off the charts.
