carrie-prejean-book-110909“Still Standing,” the book by former beauty queen Carrie Prejean, goes on sale today, testing the adage that there’s no such thing as bad publicity.

Prejean, who was ousted as Miss California USA in June, settled her legal dispute with the pageant organizers last week, reportedly after they showed her a sex tape she appeared in.

She had sued them about the ouster, saying she was targeted because of her opposition to gay marriage. Pageant organizers countersued, seeking repayment of $5,200 they had given her for breast implants.

According to Amazon.com, customers who buy Prejean’s book frequently also buy “Going Rogue: An American Life,” the upcoming book by former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

Here’s how the publisher, Regnery Press, describes Prejean’s book:

There’s nothing the liberal media love to attack more than a conservative celebrity. Unless it’s a female conservative celebrity. Make that a beautiful female conservative celebrity.

So, when a California beauty queen had the audacity – the nerve – to stand up for traditional marriage in front of a national televised audience, well then, the liberal media went crazy. They called her every vile name in the book – while feminists around the country were oddly silent. Like Sarah Palin, Laura Bush, Ann Coulter and so many before her, Carrie Prejean was vilified for not being the modern American woman that NOW had in mind.

But through it all, Carrie Prejean, former Miss California, maintained her composure, courage, faith—and stood her ground. Not many 22-year-old women find themselves thrust into the national spotlight. Fewer still are willing to stand up for what they believe, even when it costs them a national title and subjects them to vicious personal attacks.

In her new book, Still Standing, Carrie gives readers the inside story, and the clear message that conservative women are here to stay. From the pageant’s political and manipulative tactics, to Carrie’s fight against unfair attacks from Hollywood and the media, and her never-before-published conversations with Donald Trump and Sarah Palin, Carrie reveals the story the media didn’t report but America wants to hear.

Carrie has a message for Hollywood and the mainstream media – but she also has a message for young women everywhere. Still Standing exposes the media’s hypocritical practice of “free speech for me but not for thee” and shatters the myth that a woman can’t be influential and Conservative.

Carrie Prejean has already been a media sensation. Still Standing proves that she’s more than just a pretty face – she’s a strong woman of admirable religious, political, and moral substance, and she’s one of the leaders in a new movement championing conservative women everywhere.

she has proven to be a hypocrit every step of the way.

“she also has a message for young women everywhere”
    what?
make sure you don’t lose the sex tape that confirms what a hypocrit you are?

Yeah, how to lie to your employer to get famous and then act all victimized when you’re fired for lying.

We the human race are born into sin. Demon and Angel play into everyday life. This remarkable young lady what she has done when she was underage should not be used against her in adulthood. No one is spared , everyone does something that is regretable especially at very young age. I dont believe she has done anything deliverately to harm anyone. However writing a book at just 22 yrs of age what wisdom ? Carrie definitly fell for a trap when she went after the pageant with a law suite.

There’s really nothing remarkable to note. A pretty girl goes into a beauty contest and states her opinion on a political issue. She is reprimanded and eventually fired from her post. I agree with her on the marriage between a man and a woman opinion but scoff at the rather immature and stupid things she has done before and since. We’ve all done and said things we regret, but she took it to a new level with her holier than thou attitude, dontcha think? In light of her hypocrisy, I don’t think many people will buy the book. Why read something supposedly inspirational when the author has her very own sex tape. Kind of like reading that tramp Kim Kardashian if she were to write a religious book.

I could careless what anyone thinks about Gay marriage. There are many things in this world I find offensive too, but when you go after the rights of American citizens, then you’ve crossed the line. Shame on anyone that would find it acceptable to remove rights from any American. Shame shame shame shame shame.

And the incredible lies this woman has told. NEVER trust anyone whom professes to be a “Christian” in order to obtain your vote or business.

Carrie once said that she took the original topless photos in order to obtain work. Well in my day a good “christian” girl didn’t need to remove their shirts in order to gain employement.

We need to teach our daughters NOT to be a Carrie. I don’t want this woman to be a roll model for my daughter. I heard the video she did was so nasty and discusting it couldnt be shown in any part on TMZ.

America needs to wake up to these people running around professing to be good christian people and then doing the things they do. Shame shame shame shame shame.

Personally, to be honest, I could careless about her videos or photos… truly I could careless, but when you advocate the taking away of rights from American citizens, then shame on you. (look at the Mormons and their shameful acts!!!)

  • Ken t says:

Another thing that really ticked me off to Carrie … When she was asked the question she said. ” SHE WAS GLAD SHE LIVED IN A COUNTRY IN WHICH PEOPLE COULD CHOOSE GAY MARRIAGE OR NOT. YES, SHE SAID THIS!, Then she went on to say, that for her and her family, she believed in a man and woman only for marriage, but in any event, she was GLAD she lived in a country in which people could choose. WHICH IS FINE BY ME. But what really showed me her true colors is after saying she was glad that she lived in a country in which people could choose, she then aligned herself within days of making that statement with a group of people whom advocated the taking away rights from GAY people. And made a tv spot for NOM, this group openly advocates the removal of rights of certain Americans. I know… can you imagine in the year 2009, that some Americans have different rights from others??? And Carrie makes a commerical for these people. Shameful and one of the most UN-CHRIST like things I’ve seen. Truly shameful.

And since we’re on the subject of Christ. Someone mentioned that the Christians developed the marriage. LIE number ONE, the Christians didn’t develop marriage. (ruined it yes) but the Romans were marrying people long before the time of the Christians. When Jesus walked the earth, the Romans were marrying same sex couples. JESUS would have been well aware of this fact and yet Jesus said NOTHING about Gay marriage. And it was going on all around him. Jesus was vocal and had it been a issue he would have mentioned it. And one thing clear… NO WHERE in the bible does Jesus or God speak directly about Gay marriage or homosexuality. Yes, there is homophobia in the bible, but NO where did Jesus nor God mention a single word on the subject.

    Ken t:
I agree total regarding taking away someone rights… especially the right to free speech. It’s the first thing an decent dictator does. Prevent people from expressing there on beliefs and then force them to accept yours.

I’ve played in bar bands off-and-on for 40 years and seen some strange stuff but I’ve never seen anyone attacked so viciously for giving and honest answer to a question she was REQUIRED to answer.

She simple stated that she believed in the traditional definition of marriage. The definition that has existed for thousands of years and many many societies. As you mention, yes marriage even survived the debauchery of the Roman Empire when gay adult males kept young boys called “Catamites” for sodomy.

She didn’t even comment on what she though of gays.

  • Norman says:

oldguy-no one cares what a loser still trying to “make it” with his band thinks…
Gay Marriage has actually existed in some form for thousands of years-check out ceremonies done in China and Asia
And the facts straight-no one suppressed Carrie’s speech-she actually spoke more than she would have had she NOT answered the question with bigotry–Carrie was not fired for her answer-she was fired for lying, for not showing up when she was supposed to, etc
The fact that she posed nude and made many sex tapes two years ago is just the delicious icing on her fall…
She DID comment on gays, oldfart-when you state that “opposite” marraige is somehow better than or holier than gay marriage, you are expressing hate and bigotry
Just proves that when you lie and are a hypocrite, God will punish you!!

Boy. I guess we can all write crap that lacks integrity these days because there will always be a money-hungry publisher to boost it with politically correct terminology and sugary spin, huh? Writers, and those who call yourselves writers, don’t lose sight of the dream!

I cannot wait for the day when people stop swallowing this load of horse poop.
