‘I’M ONE OF THEM’

Actress Bo Derek, 53, says she’s sometimes scared of how age is affecting her face, but she resists the temptations of plastic surgery, Botox and injectable fillers.

“When you look at women who have had plastic surgery, they have lost something — usually an expression, something unique to their faces,” she told London’s Mail Online.

“They start to look the same. I’ve always admired the women who didn’t do it, so I have to keep reminding myself that I’m one of them and not the other.”

She doesn’t discuss the experience of looking in the mirror. She says photos are what sometimes upset her.

“When I look at some photographs of myself, I think, ‘Oh, I look all right,’ ” she said. “But, in others, I scare myself; I wish I had my old skin.”

Bo looks sooo much prettier than the hoardes of women who look like they belong in a wax museum.

  • snarf says:

Bo, you are stunning. Please stay as you are.

  • Good choice says:

Props for her decision. Age will ultimately take all of our youthful looks, it sounds like she has dealt with that fact. However, I have heard that she exercises daily and eats well. I have more respect for that than any fat-lipped, frozen-eyed botox user.

Bo is a classic beauty, and a model for healthy living. I’m horrified by plastic surgery . . . the fake boobs, the facelifts . . . in the end, it just doesn’t help.

We all get old. Those who embrace their age and enjoy the benefits of eating healthy and getting plenty of exercise will always trump those who pay for false looks.

  • Beachchic says:

Bo is an inspiration and she looks great and much better than those frozen, plumped bozos.

You look great Bo. Don’t cave to the pressure. Look at all the failures of cosmetic surgery, the list goes on and on.

You will be able to hold your head up high when you are surrounded by the likes of, Meg Ryan, Melanie Griffith, Carrot Top, Gary Busey, Kenny Rogers, Donatella Versace, I will end with that one.

Of course you’re scared when you are so infatuated with beauty. It’s only skin deep and the only thing you take with you when you die is your soul and the wisdom you have accumulated in your life. It’s a little superficial, let it go- BO!

  • carey north says:

    Age gracefully.

  • deedee says:

Photos of Tila Tequila scare me.

    • oclatina says:

LOL Same here. Most women who get botox, etc. done look SCARY. Many of them resemble kewpie dolls. No thanks, that’s not the look I am going to aim for when I age. I am 30 and try to stay out of the sun, don’t smoke and take care of myself.

  • gary says:

    bo is hot !

  • ingodwetrust says:

Botox doesn’t look good on just everyone. I myself LOVE it! It also may depend on the person who does it too.

  • couldb says:

    beautiful!

  • merelyashadow says:

Its wonderful to see someone that doesn’t look like “freakish”. Bo, you look beautiful. Thank you for chosing common sense over vanity.

  • J-Bunny says:

She’s lovely at any age. She was blessed with gorgeous genes. I on the other hand, need a little help…
