DENIALS AND DISPLAYS
The fruits of cosmetic medicine filled the hall at Sunday’s Golden Globes awards, a fact that host Ricky Gervais (pictured right) pointed out in his introduction.
“Just looking at all the faces here reminds me of the great work that’s been done this year… by cosmetic surgeons,” he said.
Some celebrities fess up that they’ve been helped by plastic surgeons or dermatologists. For example:
- Courteney Cox
- Mickey Rourke
They and many other celebrities are featured in the slide show, “Plastic surgery at the Golden Globes,” which also includes comments about cosmetic treatments those stars may have undergone.
Many celebrities won’t admit that they owe anything to cosmetic medicine, it seems obvious that they’ve had work done. Among those at the Golden Globes are:
- Sophia Loren
- Nicole Kidman
- Jessica Lange
Some stars don’t answer questions about whether they’ve gone under the knife or the needle, even though changes in their face are evident. In this group are:
- Joan Allen
- Rachel Zoe
Others reject cosmetic medicine and seem to be telling the truth. For example:
- Sigourney Weaver (pictured at right)
- Glenn Close
- Jane Lynch

Mickey Rourke’s face is looking much better than it did last fall, when the actor’s face seemed to have fallen victim of his fascination with boxing and inept plastic surgery to repair the damage he’d done to himself in the ring.
